Rudbeckia fulgida produces a bushy cluster of basal leaves that put up branching, leafy stalks with multiple flowers on each stalk. The flowers are daisy-like with large yellow petals surrounding a brown or black center of disk flowers. Flowers are followed by a mass of tiny black seeds. Blooms for the better part of 5 months in good years, makes great cut flowers for bouquets. Dead-heading will encourage reblooming. Nectaring plant for a wide variety of butterflies and native bees.
