Compact subshrub with semi-woody stems lined by shiny, ovoid leaves that have a strong smell of menthol when crushed. Multiple stems sprout in late spring. Stems are topped with clusters of half inch pink tubular flowers from mid summer to early fall. Thrives in well-drained soils in part shade. This plant does well in rock gardens and is very drought tolerant.
