Clump forming, low growing mass of slender, lanceolate leaves that put up short stems with large showy flowers. Flowers are about 2″ across with frilly outer petals that range from cornflour blue to deep lavendar and surround a yellow center. Multiple blooms follow one another and will be even more prolific when spent blossoms are removed. The basal leaves are evergreen in warmer areas, and this plant is drought tolerant. Excessive winter moisture can kill this plant, so avoid low or moist areas when planting.
