Clethra alnifolia, also known as Sweet Pepperbush or Summersweet, is a deciduous shrub that grows 5-10ft tall. Small, white, fragrant flowers are produced in 2-6” spikes. These flowers bloom from July to August and are very attractive to various pollinators. This shrub prefers moist to wet, acidic soils and full sun to partial shade.
