Common name: Dwarf Chestnut
- Light: Part shade
- Water Needs: Average to dry
- Height: 10–30′
- Seasonal Interest: Masses of tiny, cream-colored flowers make a fluffy display in spring; thorny green nuts mature through summer until darkening to brown and falling from the tree in fall. Nuts are edible and have a sweet taste. Recommended to have more than one to increase nut production.
- Growing Tips: Prefers areas with part shade or dappled shade and dry to sandy soils. Can tolerate summer conditions with sufficient water, but will not tolerate water-logged or clay soils.
