Common name: Nuttall’s Oak
- Light: Full sun to part shade
- Water Needs: Moist to wet
- Height: 40–85′
- Seasonal Interest: Red-orange leaves in fall, and trees drop ample acorns that are important food sources for birds, squirrels, and other wildlife.
- Growing Tips: Prefers sunny areas with moist soil, but can adapt to a wide range of soils, even clay. Tolerates part shade but full sun will encourage the best crown growth. Wide, spreading crown makes it an excellent shade tree.
