Polygonatum biflorum is clump-forming and has erect, arching stems lined with smooth, bluish-green, opposite leaves. Small greenish-white bell shaped flowers hang down from the leaf nodes in spring and are followed by blue-black berries in the fall. Slowly spreads through rhizomes to form a large colony in optimum conditions: moist soils and shade.
