Sam Landes grew up in Central Illinois where his mother took him morel mushroom hunting beginning at the age of 5.  A retired Montessori teacher, he has been the Treasurer of the Mushroom Club of Georgia since 2010. Dr. Cornelia Cho, his wife, is the President of the club.  Both Cornelia and Sam are members of the North American Mycological Association (NAMA).  Sam recently stepped down as the Foray Committee Chair for NAMA after serving for 7 years.   Sam frequently gives presentations to gardening clubs, Master Gardener groups,  Master Naturalist groups,  school groups and leads forays for MCG.
