Crataegus uniflora is an upright small shrub with a slender trunk and silver bark lined with numerous lateral branches bearing large thorns. Leaves are shiny, dark green, downy whitish on the underside with rounded serrations at the edges. Singular quarter-sized white flowers are followed by yellow and pink pomes that resemble rose hips. The fruits are usually eaten within quickly after ripening by wildlife. The thorny cover and berries attract many birds. The leaves turn bright orange to red hues in the fall.
