Symphoricarpos orbiculatus, Coralberry, is a dense growing, deciduous shrub that grows 4-5 feet tall and 4-8 feet wide. Its arching stems bear oppositely arranged, oval shaped, bluish-green leaves. From May to July, white-green flowers can be seen growing in clusters in leaf axils or in terminal spikes. Fruits of showy, pink-purple, berry-like drupes develop from September to December. This species provides food and shelter for songbirds, ground birds, and small mammals.
