Styrax americanus also known as the American Snowbell is an upright, rounded shrub with slender branches and opposite leaves. Covered in white, bell-shaped flowers with reflexed petals in spring. Bark is gray to reddish-brown. Naturally occurring in moist, acidic soil, this plant will do well on stream banks and in riparian areas.
