Silphium asteriscus or Rosinweed has an erect, slender stalk with dark green, lightly toothed leaves topped with one or several yellow flowers. Flowers are very similar to sunflower species with yellow petals and a light green center full of disk flowers. Flowers are followed by compact seed heads full of small seeds. Blooms from late spring to early fall, long-lasting flowers.
