Scutellaria nervosa or Veiny Skullcap is a colony-forming perennial in the mint family that produces rounded, toothed leaves and stalks topped with multiple tiny flowers. The flowers are pink to purplish, tubular with extended lower lips and curve upwards. The flowers are followed by a helmet-like seeds capsule that forcibly ejects the seeds when it ripens. This is a bottomland species, and prefers moist sites.
