Pityopsis graminifolia has silver-green, grass-like basal leaves that put forth a central upright, branching flower stalk. Flowers are small and golden, about one inch across and multiple blooms occur on the branched stalk. The leaves are striking, and covered with very shiny, silky white hairs, giving this plant its name. This plant can form colonies on dry slopes and is a tough, drought-tolerant plant that requires well-drained conditions.
