Oenothera fruticosa has a semi-evergreen basal leaf rosette that puts forth multiple unbranched stems topped with clusters of flowers. The flowers are bright yellow with four petals and multiple stamens protruding from the middle. The basal leaves can persist through the winter in warmer areas, often taking on a reddish tint. This plant can spread rapidly in favorable conditions, but is not overly aggressive.
