Dryopteris celsa or Log Fern is a naturally occurring fertile hybrid between D. goldiana and D. ludoviciana. This fern is commonly found on rotting logs which is where the common name originated. This fern has an upright habit and can reach up to 3-4ft tall. Its features include firm, erect, deeply cut, shiny dark green fronds with contrasting dark central stems. The fronds are semi-evergreen.
