bumble bee on pink milkweed flowers

This week’s featured native plant is Pink Milkweed, Asclepias incarnata.  Milkweed species are the only host plants for Monarch butterfly caterpillars.  But wait, there's more!  The flowers are so nectar laden, that they are a favorite for native bees, and even hummingbirds have been seen to come by to take a sip!
